Abstract

The report is intended as an aid in the design of bridge protective systems and devices. The report includes: (1) factors considered in design and type of systems used; (2) advantages and disadvantages of seven types of fendering systems; (3) material properties of fendering systems; (4) design parameters; (5) hand calculation and computer applications; and (6) conclusions and recommendations of state-of-the-art study.
