Experimental Verification of Force Determination and Ground Flying on a Full-Scale Helicopter

Abstract

Force determination is a method of obtaining dynamic loads acting on a vehicle in flight. These loads were determined from measured fuselage responses obtained in flight and calibration matrices obtained in a shake test. These forces obtained were verified by ground flying in a hangar and duplicated the responses obtained in flight.
