Abstract
This guidebook serves as an introduction to the Airborne Systems Software Acquisition Engineering guidebook series which describes significant activities and events in the software acquisition life cycle of airborne embedded computer systems acquired within the framework of Air Force 800-series documents. This guidebook contains a brief description of the other fifteen guidebooks and discusses the application and use of the various guidebooks during the acquisition of embedded weapon system software.
