Theoretical Equation of State for Simple Liquids at High Pressures.

Abstract

A perturbation technique which is particularly well suited for high pressures is used to calculate thermodynamic properties for a simple liquid whose molecules interact via a Buckingham (exp-6) potential. There is good agreement between computations and experiments for moderate temperature isotherms for liquid nitrogen. A calculation of the shock Hugoniot of liquid nitrogen exhibits excellent agreement with experimental data. (Author)
