Abstract

This flood plain information study covers the area along the Cuyahga River from the west Kent City line, stream mile 52.65, to Lake Rockell in Franklin Township, stream mile 58.10. This study also covers Breakneck Creek from its confluence with Cuyahoga River to the East Franklin Township Line, stream mile 3.40. These communities are in Portage County. The objective of this report is that the data contained herein will be used as a guide by the planners and local officials for effective workable legislation for the control of land use within the flood plain. This report is based on hydrological facts, historical and recent flood heights, and technical data having a bearing on the occurrence and magnitude of floods within the study area. (Author)
