Flood Plain Information, Plum Creek, Cuyahoga and Lorain Counties, Ohio

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to collect and develop information on past and probable future floods associated with abnormal water flows. This information is for use by local authorities in further study, planning and action in eliminating or reducing future damages likely to be associated with the development of utilization of flood plain areas. With this data future development of such areas may be planned at elevations high enough to avoid flood damages or at lower elevations with recognition of the chance of hazards of flooding that exist. This report is based on hydrological facts, historical and recent flood heights, and technical date having a bearing on the occurrence and magnitude of floods within the study area.
