Proceedings of Management of Risk and Uncertainty in the Acquisition of Major Programs, U. S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, February 9-11, 1981

Abstract

A workshop was held in response to and urgent need to further define and bound the discipline of risk and uncertainty for the Department of Defense. The emphasis at this workshop was to define the state of the art in risk and uncertainty and to present currently applicable approaches that can be used in the acquisition process. The output of the workshop was the determination of available knowledge in the field, a definition of requirements for future research and a set of proceedings which has formed a baseline for methodology applicable to decision making under risk and uncertainty in the acquisition of major projects.
