Multivariate Dependent Relevations with Applications, and Related Topics.

Abstract

'Relevation' is the name given by Krakowski to the distribution of failure time of a replacement from an aging stock. The present authors (Johnson and Kotz) have extended this concept to include (1) hierarchal replacement systems and (2) dependence between lifetimes of original and replacement items. In this paper, we present some further developments, including first steps towards a synthesis of (1) and (2).
