Design of an Interactive Input Graphics System Based on the ACM Core Standard.

Abstract

A design has been developed for the interactive input section of a graphics system based on the ACM/SIGGRAPH CORE standard of 1979. The input system has been designed for use on a Digital Equipment Corporation VAX 11/780 computer within the VAX/VMS operating system and contains the design for a device driver for the Tektronix 4014 graphics terminal. The design is readily expandable to include software drivers for other graphics devices. The Warnier-Orr diagram method of software design has been used as the vehicle for the development of the design. Three dimensional functions, the STROKE logical device and asynchronous event generation and data access are not supported by the design. However, all input functions required by the CORE standard have been included in the design. (Author)
