Abstract

The purpose of the inspection is to determine if the dam constitutes a hazard to human life or property. Romobe Lake Dam is located on the West Branch of the Lackawanna River, approximately 1.4 miles south-southeast of Ararat, Pennsylvania. Hathaway Pond Dam is located 3000 feet down stream of Romobe Lake Dam. Hathaway Pond Dam is in the 'Significant' hazard category. The reservoir is used for recreational purposes. The dam was found to be in poor overall condition at the time of inspection on 1 November 1980. No unusual weather conditions were experienced during the inspection. Noteworthy deficiencies observed during the visual inspection are described briefly.
