A Compendium of Aircraft Cockpit Vision Surveys, 1950 through 1980. Volume I
Abstract
This publication contains a history of cockpit of visibility surveys which were conducted to measure and record aircraft (General Aviation, Transport, Helicopter, Military) cockpit visibility. Many of the aircraft were involved in midair collisions, accident investigations, research and development, and the design up through production implementation. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Binocular Camera is a standard means to accurately measure cockpit visibility, which in the certification process for civil aircraft is an invaluable tool for industry and the FAA. Therefore, the information contained in this document is intended to contribute to aviation safety. (Author)
