High Current Power Controller

Abstract

This report documents the design, development, and test of High Current Power Controllers (HCPCs) by Rockwell International. HCPCs are a combination of solid state and electromechanical technologies, combined for reduction of high power dissipation/voltage drop experienced in present Solid State Power Controllers (SSPCs) in the high current (10 ampere to 400 ampere) area. In addition, solid state advantages over the conventional electromechanical configuration, such as EMI reduction, longer life, etc., are retained. This report includes results of tests conducted during the study.
