Assembly and Application of a Shock Data Analysis System.
Abstract
SHOCK DATA ANALYSIS SYSTEMS TEND TO BE EITHER LARGE, DIGITAL PROCESSING FACILITIES HANDLING BATCHES OF HUNDREDS OF RECORDS, OR SMALL, SLOW, (OFTEN ANALOGUE) SYSTEMS WHICH CAN PERFORM A LIMITED ANALYSIS ON A SMALL NUMBER OF RECORDS, BUT WHICH ARE PORTABLE. This report describes a system in the middle ground - capable of performing complete analysis of a moderate number of records in a reasonable time, accepting analogue magnetic-tape records as input and producing report-ready charts and tables output. The system utilizes standard, off-the-shelf instruments marketed nationwide and easily available, and of which could be replaced by a different supplier's product with little change in operation or performance.
