High Speed Multiplex Bus Protocol Study.

Abstract

This report presents the current results of an evaluation performed in support of the development of an advanced high speed digital avionics data bus. Emphasis is placed on certain areas of protocol design and implementation which have not been approaches very aggressively in other development efforts. These areas include a transaction oriented protocol design and greatly increased level of protocol definition stressing VLSI (and perhaps VHSIC) implementation. A detailed but preliminary protocol design is included to illustrate the concepts presented. (Author)
