Attempted Fluorination of Nitroaromatics by Xenon Difluoride.

Abstract

The fluorination of p-nitrotoluene by XeF2 is reported. Unsuccessful attempts to fluorinate di and trinitrotoluene and picramide under a variety of reaction conditions using XeF2 are also reported. (Author)
