Abstract

This paper is a brief history of the behavioral science research program in the Air Force from 1946 through 1979, the period of professional activity in the Air Force of the senior author. It outlines organizations and personnel from the Aviation Psychology Program of World War II, on through the Human Resources Research Center (HRRC), then the Air Force Personnel and Training Research Center (AFPTRC), then the 6570th Personnel Laboratory, to the current Air Force Human Resources Laboratory (AFHRL).
