GHz Analog Fiber Optic Repeater for Radar MTI.

Abstract

A 0.85 micrometer fiber optic repeater is assembled and characterized. It consists of an avalanche photodiode receiver, a wideband amplifier, and a laser diode transmitter. Characteristics investigated include pulse fidelity, dynamic range, noise figure, and frequency response. Good agreement between measurement and prediction is obtained for dynamic range and noise figure. (Author)
