The Control Anticipation Parameter for Augmented Aircraft.

Abstract

A longitudinal control anticipation parameter is developed which correlates high order augmented aircraft dynamics with both lower order equivalent system descriptions and pilot opinion ratings. Three extensive in-flight research programs are analyzed via the developed parameter in an effort to define regions of pilot acceptability. Additional effort is recommended to verify the minimum level 1 boundaries and to determine the relationship between the control anticipation parameter and alternate proposed criteria. (Author)
