Evaluation of the STAGSC-1 Shell Analysis Computer Program.

Abstract

An evaluation of the STAGSC-1 finite element nonlinear shell analysis program was made. Detailed descriptions and critiques of the program capabilities, documentation, architecture and performance are provided. An in-depth technical evaluation of the element library performance is presented. Also studied were the eigensolver performance and performance of the transient integration operators for nonlinear problems. A detailed case study is presented for a nonlinear collapse problem.
