Computer-Assisted Scintigrams of the Liver and Spleen in Mice.

Abstract

Radioisotopic scintigrams of the liver and spleen in laboratory mice were performed using the gamma camera with a 1-mm micro-pinhole collimator and computer. The mice were injected intravenously with In-111 labeled lymphocytes and imaged at 1, 7, and 24 hours. Mice were anesthetized with an intraperitoneal injection of Nembutal to a level sufficient to allow the collection of 100,000 counts. The scintigrams obtained with the pinhole collimator were high-quality images and, with the addition of the computer, allow the quantitative evaluation of selected regions of interest. (Author)
