The Mutagenic Potential of: N-Hexyl-2-Oxazolidone.

Abstract

It has been shown that, with the Ames Assay, n-hexyl-2-oxazolidone is mutagenic to Salmonella strain TA 98 in the range of .00004 to 3.2 X 10 to the 7th power m1/plate. Since these same results were not observed for any of the other strains, it was concluded that the test substance functions as a weak frameshift mutagen. (Author)
