Nonlocal Effects in Brittle Crack Propagation.
Abstract
Stress distribution near the tip of a constant velocity crack is determined by means of nonlocal theory of elasticity. The maximum stress is finite and it allows one to utilize the maximum stress hypothesis to determine the terminal velocity of running cracks. (Author)
