A Sequence of Piecewise Orthogonal Polynomials (II).

Abstract

In this paper an orthonormal sequence of piecewise polynomials of degree k is given. We study the construction and sign-change properties of this sequence and consider the convergence of the corresponding Fourier series. The results generalize those obtained earlier for piecewise constant and piecewise linear functions. (Author)
