Analysis and Evaluation of Potential Competition of Interest among the Major Powers. Volume II. Analysis of British and Japanese External Interests.

Abstract

The purpose of this report is to present a comprehensive analysis of the scope and character of Great Britain's and Japan's foreign interests as they are observed in the structure of the two countries' everyday external involvements. In addition, the study rank-orders the international system (over 100 countries) according to each country's proportionate share of Great Britain's and Japan's worldwide involvement. In this manner, the study has sought to develop an explicit means for identifying geographic priorities in both countries' foreign policy activities.
