Design of a Data Base Management System for Student Program Development and Maintenance.

Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to develop a data base orientated system that aids the Academic Associates and Curricular Officers in program development and course selection for individual students within particular curricula. The data base system is written utilizing the Virtual Machine Facility/370 (VM/370) operating system and the IBM 3033 computer at the Naval Postgraduate School. The automation of student curriculum matrices, course offerings, and tentative course scheduling is presented. A system user's manual for the IBM 3278 terminal is provided. (Author)
