A Study of Optical Collimators.

Abstract

The operating principles of optical collimators are reviewed with special attention to the effect of filtering pinhole diameter, laser beamwidth and lens focal length on performance. Three collimators were examined; a Jodon 50 millimeter beam expanding telescope; a Trople 280-50 and a DREO design. Their ability to collimate a Spectra Physics Model 135 He-Ne laser beam was assessed. (Author)
