Boundary Observability and Controllability for Diffusion Equations

Abstract

Investigation has focused on problems of observation and control for parabolic equations, primarily with interaction limited to the boundary of the region. Abstracts and bibliography presented herein may be classified under six headings: (a) Basic theoretical questions on control of parabolic equations; (b) Problems of observation and identification for parabolic equations; (c) Other system-theoretic problems; (d) Problems and considerations (algorithms, regularity, etc.) related to approximation and numerical computation; (e) I11- posed problems; and (f) Problems involving nonlinear partial differential equations.
