The Hydrography and Dynamics of the FREDDEX Eddy.

Abstract

During the period 3-25 June 1979, a Gulf Stream ring was surveyed with XBT's. These data have been edited and cataloged on the NRL computer. The dynamics of the ring are discussed, and the current structure of the ring has been derived. The Rossby current modes are also calculated and their relative contribution to the ring is discussed.
