National Dam Safety Program. Krueger Lake Dam (MO 11007), Mississippi - Kaskaskia - St. Louis Basin, Warren County, Missouri. Phase I Inspection Report.

Abstract

Krueger Lake Dam is situated on the border between the Dissected Till Plain Section of Central Lowlands Physiographic Province which extends to the north and the Ozark Plateau Province to the south. The purpose of the dam is to impound water for recreational use as a private lake. The following problems were observed which could affect the safety of the dam or which require immediate remedial action; Series of longitudinal cracks on and near the crest of the dam; Some sloughing of the upstream slope into the reservoir; Rodent activity on the embankment; Erosion and sloughing of the soils from the right bank of the spillway on the spillway channel; Vegetative growth in the spillway discharge channel; Seepage observed in the left bank of the spillway discharge channel; Erosion gullies at the left abutment contact; and Wave erosion on the upstream embankment slope.
