Abstract

Lake Lacawanna Dam is located approximately 3.8 miles southeast of Valles Mines, Missouri, on the West Fork of Plattin Creek. Lake Lacawanna is used for recreation. Maintenance of the dam and operating facilities are considered poor. There is no warning system in effect to warn downstream residences of large spillway discharges or failure of the dam.
