Records of Australian Fouling Organisms: Sessile Barnacles (Crustacea, Cirripedia),

Abstract

Ten species of barnacle collected during studies on marine fouling at Defence exposure sites in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia are described and illustrated. Morphological and systematic characters of balanomorph barnacles are described and a taxonomic key presented to enable these important fouling organisms to be routinely identified. The report complements earlier manuals on Australian marine fouling and extends their geographic range. (Author)
