Determination of Complex Characteristic Values and Vectors from Sinusoidal Excitations at near Resonance Frequencies.

Abstract

In this report an iterative procedure for determining complex characteristic values and vectors from measured values of the steady state response to sinusoidal excitations is described. An extension of the procedure which enables it to cope with the case of two close characteristic values is presented also. Results of numerical experiments performed to investigate these procedures are given. This report contains also extensive background material and an examination of the methods of Ibrahim, of Wittmeyer and of Link and Vollan. (Author)
