Analyst's Guide for the Analysis Sections of MIL-H-46855.

Abstract

The analysis portions of MIL-H-46855 (Paragraphs 3.2.1 through 3.2.1.3.3) are examined and elaborated upon in terms of suggested analysis techniques to be used in accomplishing their indicated analysis requirements. The emphasis of this guide (as compared to the Navy manager's guide) is placed on the HFE analyst's task of planning and performing the most cost effective total analysis effort. Typical HFE program requirements are indicated and basic analysis considerations such as data inputs, level of detail, timing, and applications are detailed. Paper and pencil techniques are included in summary form and references are supplied for the programming techniques. Included in the appendices are: Preliminary analysis survey data taken at several Navy centers; an HFE Analyst's Program Decision Tree to be used as a checklist to assist him in his analysis job; and an example of program HFE manpower estimates.
