H6000 Disk Analysis (DIANA) System: Q038/ER. Volume I. Computer Operation Manual. Volume 2. User's Manual

Abstract

The DIANA system was developed for use by the data processing installations disk manager. It is a tool for evaluating and improving the effectiveness and control of the users mass storage resource on Honeywell 6000 systems. DIANA collects and provides reports on removable spindle activity used to identify spindle contention and pack usage. Also, DIANA collects static type information on location, size, and number of allocations for disk files. The generated reports will help the disk manager to determine proper placement of files. This manual provides the H6000 DPI operations personnel with the information to operate the DIANA system. The DIANA system may be executed through either batch input from cards or time-sharing terminals.
