Application of Symbolic Processing to Command and Control: An Advanced Information Presentation System. Volume I. Overview

Abstract

This report describes the work performed in the second year of the three-year contract to explore the application of symbolic processing to command and control (C2); specifically, the graphics interface between the C2 user and a complex C2 decision support system. In Volume I, the goals and approaches used in the design of the prototype system, AIPS (Advanced Information Presentation System), are discussed, as well as the year's efforts to extend the prototype. An overview of the current AIPS system is also provided.
