Laboratory Evaluation of Australian Ration Packs.

Abstract

Methods and results of chemical analysis of the 1977-78 packaging program are presented. The content of moisture, fat, protein, carbohydrate, thiamin, ascorbic acid, and energy of rations are included. Daily available nutrients are estimated and evaluated with respect to daily requirements. Some rations were found to be nutritionally unbalanced with respect to protein content. Certain rations were found to be marginally energy deficient. (Author)
