Consumer Products Advertised to Save Energy--Let the Buyer Beware.

Abstract

This reports points out problems experienced by Federal, State, and local agencies in protecting consumers from potentially inaccurate or misleading energy-saving claims. We made this review because the Government encourages consumers to buy energy-saving products, and therefore, it is important that consumers are not misled about the products' ability to save energy.
