Ohio's 1981 Home Energy Assistance Program.

Abstract

The low Income Energy Assistance Program for 1981 is authorized by the Home Energy Assistance Act of 1980 (Public Law 96-223, Apr. 2, 1980). Under the act, the Secretary of HHS may make grants to States in accordance with approved plans for providing assistance to eligible households, enabling them to meet rising home energy costs. Ohio was allocated $90,081,158 for the Federal fiscal year 1981 (Oct. 1, 1980, through Sept. 30, 1981). Its Department of Economic and Community Development is responsible for administering the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP). (Author)
