User's Manual for UCIN-CABLE: Underwater Cables.

Abstract

This report presents a computer program, UCIN-CABLE: Underwater Cables. The program is designed to study the dynamics of underwater cables. The cable is modeled as a series of rigid cylinders connected end-to-end by ball and socket joints. There may be one or many branches, and no closed loops are formed. The effects of normal fluid drag, tangential fluid drag, added mass, and buoyancy are included. This manual provides detailed instructions and building a set of input data and interpreting the output of the program. (Author)
