Review of the Lower Hybrid Drift Instability and Its Saturation Mechanisms.

Abstract

A survey is given of previous research on the linear theory of the lower hybrid drift instability (Sec. I). A summary is made of research recently completed as well as research currently in progress on the nonlinear theory and computer simulations of the lower hybrid drift instability (Sec II). (Author)
