PATCHES-III. User's Guide for Involute Composites.

Abstract

A user's guide is provided for the nozzle analyst who needs to use the computer program PATCHES-III to model an involute component, but who does not want to become expert in all the modeling capabilities of the program. The analyst is expected to have a finite element background and should be familiar with how an involute is constructed. Models of test cylinders, involute billets and beam specimens excised from involute rings are described in detail. The bulk data input for these models are annotated and the output is illustrated with computer plots. (Author)
