Activities of the Committee on Human Factors: October 1, 1980 - September 30, 1981.

Abstract

The Committee on Human Factors was established and held its first meeting in December 1980. The three principal accomplishments of the committee during the reporting period were: (a) identifying critical problems in human factors and formulating preliminary statements defining the nature of these problems and the basic research needed to alleviate these problems; (b) establishing membership and guidelines for a special working group on simulation; and (c) planning the conduct of a workshop on applied methodologies that will identify some methodologies suitable for presentation at a tutorial symposium and other methodologies deserving research support.
