Radiation and Temperature Tests of Cadmium Telluride Detectors

Abstract

This report describes the testing of CdTe sensors together with front end electronics developed by Radiation Monitoring Devices, Inc for Radiac Division CS&TA Laboratory, Fort Monmouth, NJ. These new solid state sensors show promise, in terms of miniature size and sensitivity, toward the development goal of wrist-watch-sized military radiac. The unit was to operate from .01 mR/h to 1,000,000 mR/h using the least of number of sensors.
