Catoptric X-Ray Optical System (For Use in Laser-Fusion Diagnostics)

Abstract

A compound x-ray imaging device is being developed as an aid in the diagnostics of a laser-fusion process which involves a pellet about 100 microns in diameter. While previous reports have dealt with the use of certain aspheric surfaces in the x-ray imaging process, this report is confined to a thorough investigation of the use of Abbe's sine condition at grazing angles of incidence in the case of a single reflector.
