National Dam Inspection Program. Heritage Reservation Dam (NDI I.D. Number PA-01142, PennDER I.D. Number 26-101), Ohio River Basin, Little Sandy Creek, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. Phase I Inspection Report

Abstract

Based on a visual inspection, operational history, and available engineering data, Heritage Reservation Dam is considered to be in excellent condition. The size classification of the facility is intermediate and the hazard classification is considered to be high. In accordance with the recommended guidelines, the Spillway Design Flood (SDF) is considered to be the PMF (Probable Maximum Flood). Results of the hydrologic and hydraulic analysis indicate that the facility is capable of passing and/or storing the PMF without overtopping the dam or dike. Consequently, the spillway is considered adequate.
