Algorithms for Tracking a Sound Source Using Frequency and Bearings

Abstract

This report develops some of the analytical support for algorithms designed to permit one or more mobile searchers to track a sound source moving in a straight line. The searchers measure bearing and received frequency to infer range, the true frequency and velocity components. The measurements of bearing and frequency are subject to random errors. (Author)
