Defense Suppression. Volume III. Appendix B. Air Defense Assessment Model (ADAM)

Abstract

Appendix B describes RDA's Air Defense Assessment Model (ADAM) which was used in the study to determine a baseline attrition rate for close air support and battlefield interdiction missions and to estimate the effects of ground-based jamming on this attrition rate. Parameters used in the model are defined and their roles are discussed. (Specific values of the parameters for Soviet systems may be found in Appendix A). The model's unique treatment of line-of-sight visibility as affected by typical terrain in the region of interest is described in detail.
