Satellite 9443 DSCS II Anomaly Report Narrow Coverage Downlink Noise.

Abstract

Results are given of an investigation of the cause of noise pulses in the RF downlink, considering orbital data and laboratory simulation. The cause is ascribed to an arc in the cathode circuitry of the TWT, which is a function of the vacuum level.
