National Dam Safety Program. Punch Bowl Dam (Inventory Number N.Y. 1343), Oswego River Basin, Schuyler County, New York. Phase I Inspection Report,

Abstract

This report provides information and analysis on the physical condition of the dam as of the report date. Information and analysis are based on visual inspection of the dam by the performing organization. Based on the evaluation of the existing conditions, the condition of the Punch Bowl Dam is considered to be good. The examination of documents and the visual observations did not reveal conditions which constitute a hazard to human life or property. The spillway capacity was evaluated according to the recommended procedure and the dam was found to pass 100 percent of the Probable Maximum Flood (PMF) without significantly affecting the stability of the dam. Therefore, the spillway capacity is rated as adequate. (Author)
