Advanced Information System Research Project.

Abstract

The Advanced Information System Research Project is a long-term effort to develop a sound technical, economic, and military basis for the support of future (1985+) information systems for the U.S. Army. This study investigated the needs and requirements of U.S. Army information systems; assessed technology in terms of systems, hardware, software, communications, and ADP capabilities of Eurasian Communist countries; assessed the environment in which the systems would operate; and derived generic requirements for post-1985 information systems and selected technical research issues which must be investigated to assist in the fielding of future systems.
